How to Survive the Apocalypse?

Workshop, 2021

You are about to die. You need to to craft an object to survive the end of the world.

This project is a DIY narrative-driven workshop for zoom. This is a really good Zoom game for small or large groups. It is based in a post-apocalyptic science-fiction world with survival as the leading narrative.

It explores themes of science fantasy, alternative living and counterculture. It looks at how these can be explored to create quick design prototypes. The overall concept and aesthetic is inspired by video games, survival movies and theme parks.

Participants have to craft and object with materials they find around them. At the start of the workshop, they "wake up" in a time that is directly after the catastrophe. They have to find a way to keep themselves alive.

In order to do so, they are encouraged to choose between different scenarios (which I have written and distributed to all participants). All post-apocalyptic stories takes place in a non-technological future world where only scattered elements of society and technology remain.

They are encouraged to design anything (it could be a survival jacket, a new technology, or a survival system). At the end, they are invited to present their design to the group.

Fun team things to do over Zoom. Fun zoom games for teens. Games workshop apocalypse.
